It's My Pony, I'll Ride How I Want To

This morning I went to the barn early to ride my horse while it was cool and to get my barn chores early so I could take the kids to the beach all day and not have to worry about doing anything else.

This actually isn't half bad for me!  I finally am feeling comfortable and totally safe riding my little horse!

I had gotten off of Facebook back in January because I know people who Facebook spy on other equestrians and talk all kinds of crap and take great pleasure in cutting others down, so if any horse cronies in my area see my blog and say something like this: --(because, let's face it...this IS how they talk about each other...so, so stupid...)--
"Oh my GOSH, did you see SARAH GROOTHUIS riding her little tiny Arabian in an out door arena?  Her elbows weren't bent and she looked a hot mess cantering around on that poor, poor horse.  And that footing in the arena, most likely her horse will be lame.  Oh, that poor girl, she hasn't a clue, she needs so much help.  Oh, but she is THAT type of rider...you know?  It's okay, she'll just never be educated, but she says that isn't what she wants...Oh that poor horse...tsk tsk"

It's what I heard day in and day out for 2 1/2 years of my life living in the professional world of horses.  I partially bought into the BS for a  while.  But I hate that kind of talk so much.  I really just want to cheer anyone on in any kind of riding they choose, even if they just want to trail ride and "know nothing" usually those are your best kind of people.  So any other videos or pictures I post, that anyone sees on my blog *cheers* I don't give a rats behind what you think of it. I'll make sure to refer back to this paragraph when I post those...

Now on to some fun stuff...

The girls and I and some friends of ours spent this 80 degree day at the beach.  It was AMAZING outside today!!!

See the sailboat out today??  It was pretty neat looking!

What do you do with hairy looking seaweed??

You pretend you're a horse, duh!!

Sandy kiddos...

Pretty girls!!!  Happy friends.  It was a fantastic day!

Oh, and when we got home, the girls were playing with their neighborhood friend who loves to sing and dance...and this is what they made up.  Very dramatic and creative.  I know they will love this video when I play it  at their graduation one day. :-)  Such darling little girls!
