Beach Day!

On this journey to Tevis, I have already learned some new things.  While on my journey, life happened, I quit my job--(which was the best thing I have ever done besides marry my husband and have 2 beautiful kids!!)  and started living again.  I have no idea why I ever thought cleaning stalls, washing horses and going to stuffy dressage shows were fun.  Because my life as it is right now doesn't even compare...I will never go back.  NEVER!!

On this AMAZING 86 degree late April day, my friend and I took the girls to the beach all day.  We got to see some fun stuff!!  We saw an otter swimming and eating fish, Heidi and Reagan found 3 starfish today, one was a teeny, tiny one...very darling.  It was so clear, Mt. Raineer was out to admire and you could see the Seattle city from where we were.  So blessed to live in this area!

My view today.  Kids playing in the ocean with our beautiful mountain behind them.

You have to admire the blue nails AND the purple starfish...
Such a cute little guy out entertaining us today!

So good to have friends!

Got to love a sand goatee!

Always fun to play in the sand!

Isn't that the cutest starfish ever???
The last starfish that Reagan found

Pretty cool, I never get tired of seeing them!

I hope your day was as fun as ours enjoying this amazing sunshine!!  Tomorrow I will be out riding with some friends up at Green Mountain.  Todd is taking the day off to take the kids fishing and enjoy the 90 degree weather we will be having.  Lots of pictures!!  Science fair tomorrow too.  Fun and busy day.

Alpine Trail Riding

Today was BEAUTIFUL outside!!  So, what do I do??  I leave my homeschooling munchkins home with my wonderful husband  (who worked from home today) and went with my good friend Colleen out to Alpine for a trail ride!!  Such a fun day!!

Colleen and Sebastian

My Renata.  Not a good shot, but that is all you get when I ride and take pictures!

Of course, I had Sydney with me.  He had a fun day!

Colleen cantering down the trail.  It's hard to take a picture when your horse follows the one in front...

Look at that sky!!  Such a pretty day to be out!

Going Away Parties and Opening Fishing Day!

It has been a busy week!  Yesterday I threw a going away party for my friend Leslie.  We have been friends a while.  She even stuck with me while I was off gallivanting around the horse world and we would get together with the kids at the beach when we could or go for walks.  We used to walk 4 miles every evening, rain or shine...we'd be out there with our bright fluorescent safety vests and flashlights doing our route.  She has been a good friend, one where you could pick up where you left off, they will be missed.

                                                          The Schroeder family, minus Derek.

The last of the ladies from the party last night.  All husbands were very patient as we sat around and chatted with Leslie one last time before they moved.  At one point I think I had 40 people in my house!!  It was a big party. :-)

The men, being very patient waiting for all their chatty women.

How many kids can we fit on a trampoline??  What is the limit??  That isn't even all the kids!

This morning, I got up and went to the barn to clean and feed.  I had a friend's daughter with me.  They met me out there and got to ride a little.  I am sad I didn't have my camera.  My horse was a very good girl and very patient with all the kiddos getting a little pony ride.  I love my horse!

I was home by 10am and Todd and I packed the kids up and took them fishing for opening day.
Out on the lake.  Todd was very excited to use the new motor he bought for his boat.  Will be fun to take the kids tubing this summer!

Happy fishing kids.  Heidi just likes to go to eat the good snacks!  See them behind her?

Todd's fish.  I netted it and pulled it off the hook.  I caught one too, and Todd caught one more and the girls were skunked today.  But we will go back next week.

Haha, Todd's fish, this picture is goofy!

Todd, playing around with his new motor.

Heidi and Reagan had a fun day, even if they didn't catch anything.

It was supposed to rain all day today, but it didn't and we had a great time out on the lake.  Hope all of your day was good too.  I hope you got to catch a fish for opening day!  So fun!

Pretty Easter Girls

My girls are so pretty!!  This year, Heidi picked out her own dress.  I liked this one the best....
Isn't this dress darling??  I was so hoping she would pick it...but she picked a different one, and it was modest so I hadn't any reason to say no.  She likes to choose her own things.

Look at my Heidi!  She is turning into a young lady so quickly!

Isn't Reagan lovely?  I love her Easter dress.  I love her hair short too.  Darling.

Heidi's Easter hair.  She loves her Easter up dos.
I like the way it turned out.  So pretty!

Hope everyone had a great Easter!!  I know Memaw and Papa will love seeing their Easter beauties.

My Life Does NOT Slow Down...

Okay, first let me say sorry to my mom and dad, I promised to post pictures of my girls in their pretty Easter dresses...however...that camera is in the truck and I am upstairs in my comfy chair and so....well, there it is.  LAZY.

So, I will write about what we have been doing the last 4 days...

Saturday...4H Archery Tournament...ALL DAY LONG.  Left at 7:30am didn't get home until after 6pm.  The kids had fun shooting there 2 rounds.  Yes, we were all day for that.  Chaos at it's finest, they need someone like Todd to organize that better and run a tighter ship in my opinion...

Then Sunday, it was Easter!!!  It was a great day, my favorite day of the year!
We brought cinnamon rolls to breakfast for Easter breakfast at church.
Good stuff!  I will post the pictures of the girls in their dresses later.

Yesterday I went to my barn early to clean and ride, came home edged and weed wacked the yard, then ran to pick up friends and a gift and headed over to a baby shower on Fox Island.  I didn't get home until after 11pm.

Today, I got up and around and took the kids to school, then to the barn to clean and ride and back to the school to pick the kids up.  They are working on their Science fair project and we were trying to get the kids to get it done all today so all they have left is their journal.  I took the kids shopping at Staples and Walmart to find fancy things for their board.  When we got to Walmart they had a cardboard cut out of a bride where you could stick your head in and have a bridle body.  The kids had a lot of giggles over that, I sent pictures to Todd and my dad via text and they weren't thinking that was a cool picture.  But we thought it was fun...

So fun!

Then my friend Diana and I had to crack the whip and get the kids going on their Science project.  We finally got it done!!

Working on typing up hypothesis, conclusion, variables, charts, and materials used.

Then, what do the moms do while the kids write, cut and paste??

We play pool, of course!!!  What else is there to do??
If you are wondering, Diana won :-).  No surprise, it's not my sport...but it's fun to try.

But, they finally finished up...

Diana photo bombing...

Almost!!!

YAY!  Feels good to be done.  They will be finishing their rough drafts on their reports this week, and then on the 1st of May they will show their projects.  It's nice to have that done and not hanging over my head.

Tomorrow is a much calmer day.  Just barn cleaning and riding, but after that, just house cleaning and staying home.  Loving that!
Hope your week is a lot more calm than mine!
