Hi Denise!!!!
I really love being at my new barn!! That is the barn owner. It's laid back. We all encourage each other to ride. It is a very healing place for me to be. :-)
Anyways.....onto what I did today!! My dear friend Gayle just bought a new horse. She is a big, beautiful Tennessee Walker Mare named Foxy. She has been a little spooky so Gayle invited me to go along with her on a ride to Green Mountain so she could try her new mare out. Well, my new mare was spooking JUST LIKE HERS, and because I am used to it, I actually offered to ride her. Gayle accepted, and I sure got a treat! Have you ever ridden a WALKER??? It was SO fun!!!! She truly was spooking just like my Renata, but we weren't going fast so it wasn't bothering me as much.
The view today. Oh my goodness, breath taking! This is why I love to ride, this is my passion! I can't wait to share this with my girls. There is a nice horse I know of that my girls can ride, I am hoping to be able to ride and do this with them. So fun.
My friend Gayle, on her horse Obadiah, he is a handsome Walker.
This is Foxy! Such a gorgeous girl!! So, so fun to ride her. This was at the top of the beaver creek trail head. You could put your horse in a pen while you ate your lunch, how cool is that???
Amazing views at the top. The most gorgeous day to be out riding horses. I am so lucky!
On our way back to the trailer. It was an absolutely FANTASTIC day!!!! I loved every bit. Even riding a spooky horse! :-) See, All horses are spooky...not just Arabs. I had to throw that in there. I will also add, I am for sure keeping my little Renata girl. I rode her yesterday in Alpine with a friend and she wasn't spooking much at all. We galloped up hills and ran all over the place and she was solid. So, as much as I really enjoyed riding a Walker today, I was thinking how much more fun it would be on my own horse. That is a good sign. Her and I are starting to bond.
This is the world of horses I prefer. No competition, no caring about how good or bad you look while riding, no talking bad about anyone! Just everyone enjoying their horses on a clear, sunny day. My kind of joy. I hope your enjoyed your day as much as I did.
Makes you appreciate getting out all the more when there isn't any stress of any kind.
ReplyDeleteYesterday was amazing. The views in the pictures don't do them any justice. They were spectacular. My friend Gayle is always trying to find a way to include my kiddos on our jaunts. I admire her, her love for God, family, horses, and people!! I am blessed that God would bring along a friend that is really a Titus 2 woman. So thankful. It was a day to remember, I remember why I love horses and the outdoors so much. :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. I think our up and down weather make clear sunny days all the more valuable!
